I'm going to get straight to the point! If you don't know what a Canon Camera is then I will tell you they are a fine piece of technology to own. A Canon digital camera is a camera that can take pictures digitally without the use of film! Canon makes a great deal of cameras ranging from the entry level point and shoot all the way up to the DSLR ones professionals use. You can buy them at just about any big chain retail store, but they are not cheap. Why I Recommend The Canon Powershot A1100 Digital Camera

If you're shopping for a basic, low cost, point-and-shoot camera then stay away from the Canon Powershot A1100… because it is anything but basic. It has many superior features which you may not be expecting in a camera at this price. A Canon Powershot A1100 Digital Camera is a purchase that offers you very good value for money. You are even able to pick the color of the body.

But don't let the fact that the Canon Powershot A1100 IS digital camera has so much functionality frighten you away. Because this really is the best digital camera for someone who's just starting out with digital photography. The special features packed into this compact camera are what make it so easy to use. In particular I really like the following:

The Automatic Setting – this setting takes all the guess work out of digital photography. If you've never used a digital camera before you may be worried about all those different settings. The automatic setting on the Canon Powershot A1100 digital camera means that you can forget about lighting conditions, shutter speed, focusing and all else and allow the camera do all of this for you. This should mean that you get a great result every time (but you still have to compose the shot yourself).

The Supplied Software – The software that arrives with your Canon Powershot A1100 digital camera is easy to install and even simpler to operate. You can download from the camera, or the card, directly to your PC and create any kind of filing system you like. And the software even recognizes the difference between new pictures and pictures that you already downloaded and doesn't shift them a second time. So you will not be clogging up your hard drive with tons of duplicate files.

The Batteries – I especially like the Canon Powershot A1100 digital camera for the reason that I can employ my standard AA rechargeable batteries. I'm always on the watch for ways I can do my part to protect the environment and employing NiCads definitely helps. However, the big benefit of this camera is that you can use regular alkaline batteries as well so if the rechargables go flat then I can just purchase some new batteries and carry on shooting.

Having said all that of course it is the quality of the photos that truly matters and here the Canon doesn’t disappoint. The photos are sharp (even when enlarged) and the colors accurate.

So if you are shopping for an easy to use camera that takes good pictures then I can recommend the Canon Powershot A1100 digital camera.

How Many Megapixels Do You Need?

Why are digital cameras sold on the basis of how many megapixels they have?

It is rather like choosing between different models of car based on their top speed, when past a certain point it really doesn't matter and other factors are much more important.

To produce a 6 x 4 inch print you actually only need 2.2 megapixels and of course many digital shots are only ever seen at screen resolution. A high megapixel count is good if you are going to crop the image significantly but you can never say that a 12 mp camera is better than a 10mp camera.

I was reading an interesting article on this from Ken Rockwell from which the quote below is taken which tells you all you need to know on the subject.

Unfortunately, it's all a myth because the number of megapixels (MP) a camera has has very little to do with how the image looks. Even worse, plenty of lower MP cameras can make better images than poorer cameras with more MP. Go To Article..

Canon A1100 Reviews Reveal An First-rate Digital Camera At An Affordable Price

Canon A1100 reviews generally give this camera high scores and for good reason. It is a soundly built camera with many features you would generally associate with higher priced cameras. Not only that but this canon is capable of producing really first-rate pictures.

Canon Powershot A1100 Reviews – Are They Believable?

When I was looking for a new digital camera I read several Canon Powershot A1100 Reviews but couldn’t really tell which were actually from real users and which were just marketing ploys. Anyway, the reviews did convince me to buy the cannon so I thought I would take it for a spin and see how it matches up to those reviews (a review of the reviews if you like).

Battery Life – One thing that the Canon Powershot A1100 reviews agree about this that battery life with this camera is good and I agree with that. Not only that but it has the big benefit (to me anyway) of using standard batteries. I normally use rechargeable batteries but if the batteries die when you're in the middle of a birthday party you can replace them with standard alkaline batteries available everywhere (or borrowed from a remote control etc.) and carry on shooting.

Great Picture Quality – Again, the Canon A1100 reviews seem to agree that this canon captures great pictures and once again I agree. There are pre-configured settings for a range of situations which makes it easy to get the results you want whatever the subject and conditions. One setting I particularly like is one especially for fish tanks which removes glare from the glass.

Ease of Use – The Canon Powershot A1100 reviews generally reported that it was very easy to use. I have some concerns about this as, initially, I found it hard to work out what all the buttons did and found that the instructions that were supplied with the camera didn’t go into sufficient detail. In some cases I had to search for more information online.

In general I’d have to say that most of the Canon Powershot A1100 reviews were about right. Once you get the hang of it, it is easy to use and the pictures it takes are high quality.

Canon A1100 Powershot – An Easy Step Into The Digital Age

I find it rather odd to be writing about the Canon A1100 Powershot as, until recently, I was happy with my old film camera. I was comfortable using it and felt secure with the physical film and prints. Digital photography seemed rather intimidating and I was worried about how safe my pictures would be stored on a small card in electronic rather than physical form. I finally stepped in to the 21^st Century when the canon was recommended to me and I’m very pleased I did.

Even if you’ve never used a digital camera before, with the Canon A1100 Powershot you really can’t go wrong. You can get started almost straight after unpacking the camera by putting it in Auto Mode. In this mode the camera automatically makes all the decisions for you which means that you can take great pictures right away. Of course the camera is capable of much more but Auto Mode does mean that people like me, who are new to digital cameras, can get used to this new technology little by little.

The pictures I've taken so far have been excellent, they are clear and sharp with good color reproduction. I've even been able to enlarge them to 10 x 8 and they still look good. I was able to do this because the software that is supplied with this camera is very easy to use. It has some very helpful features such as remembering when you upload a picture to your computer and not uploading it a second time.

I now find the camera easy to use although I did find all the buttons a bit confusing at first. However, with the aid of the instruction booklet and a bit of trial and error I was able to figure everything out. So I am now happily using my Canon Powershot A1100 digital camera and am a convert to the world of digital photography.
